Broadway at B&B is a one-week intensive with rehearsals similar to what professional companies call 10-out-of-12's. We rehearse daily from 9am-9pm with two meal breaks. We have nightly group activities following rehearsals to allow the campers to bond as a cast. Rehearsals will begin Sunday.
Each cast will perform a production number from the show at the MTKC Gala on Sunday, August 12th.
Based on the unforgettable film and featuring the Oscar-winning title song, FAME follows the final class of New York City's celebrated High School for the Performing Arts from their admission in 1980 to their graduation in 1984. We see them coming to terms with life and relationships; we see those who persevere, who are resilient - and those who are not. We experience their struggles, fears and triumphs as they navigate the worlds of music, drama and dance. Above all, we see their need to strive for excellence as they explore the realities of training for a career in the arts.
MY FAVORITE YEAR
From the writers and creators of Seussical, Anastasia, Ragtime and Once On This Island comes a classic musical comedy with fabulous songs and great character roles. It's 1954, and Benjy Stone, a writer for a hit TV comedy show is assigned the daunting task of babysitting the veteran Hollywood swashbuckler, Alan Swann. The reckless Swann is in town to do a live guest appearance on the show and his antics and shenanigans nearly get Benjy fired. When Benjy is given an unexpected glimpse into Swann's broken heart, though, he begins to discover a thing or two about life and love.
